What's New for Your Flight School: Training, Fleet Care, and a More Connected Team
Explore our latest updates to courses, lesson planning, starter syllabi, maintenance, billing, school memberships, and student inquiries.
From the first conversation with a future student to the next lesson on the schedule, a flight school has a lot to keep moving. Our latest updates bring more of that work into FAA Flight Schools: structured training, clearer lesson preparation, aircraft maintenance tracking, and more flexible ways for your team to work together.
This is your guide to the updates introduced since our last announcement series. Follow the links for the full story on each feature, including who can use it and where it fits into a school's day.
Give each student a plan you can teach from
The Pro Training tools let schools organize Part 61 courses into stages and lessons, publish a reviewed syllabus, and follow a student's progress against that specific course version. Instructors can record what happened and what needs more work, while students can review their own plan and feedback without needing a personal Pro subscription.
Start with training plans and student progress. If you want a starting point for course design, the redesigned starter syllabi provide purposeful lesson sequences, practice, prerequisites, and reading references that your school can review and adapt.
Make the next lesson easier to prepare
The Lessons workspace brings upcoming lessons, work that needs grading, and draft grades into focused views. Instructors can prepare for a scheduled student, choose the relevant syllabus lesson, and print a lesson plan. Schools can also assign Chief pilot responsibility for wider training oversight.
Read how lesson planning and Chief pilot oversight connect the teaching day. These tools support instructor judgment; a reservation or planned lesson does not automatically become a completed training record.
Keep fleet requirements in view
Aircraft Maintenance adds inspection requirements, aircraft-specific baselines, completion history, and a fleet report that helps authorized staff see what is coming due. Missing information remains visible so the team knows where a record needs attention.
Our aircraft maintenance update explains the Pro workflow and how management access differs from report access. The tools support operational tracking alongside your maintenance records and professional review.
Help the front desk finish the day
Frequently used products can become quick-add invoice choices, reducing repeated entry during a busy checkout. Clearer invoice details and payment review help the person at the desk follow the transaction. See the invoice and product shortcuts.
For the bigger picture, the Sales, Aircraft, and Instructors reports organize billed activity into useful views. They help answer questions about charges and activity without confusing billed revenue with money collected.
Connect the people around your school
Multi-school accounts let students and instructors maintain separate school relationships and switch context. Team permissions and role defaults let owners delegate specific responsibilities. Both are available without requiring Pro, while individual operational tools retain their own access requirements.
For growth, the matched student inquiry marketplace gives eligible schools another way to meet interested students. Direct inquiries remain free; marketplace contact unlocks use credits. Paid Pro plans can include lead credits according to the plan's current terms.
Choose your next step with Pro
Training and Maintenance are available to schools with active Pro access and the appropriate team permissions. If your school is exploring the platform, create a free account and join the Pro early-bird list to register your interest. The list is the current entry point for schools interested in Pro; joining it does not start billing or activate subscriber tools.
